A well-known hacking collective with a name confusingly similar to ours has recently shifted away from political hacktivism into the realm of criminal extortion and ransomware – building and selling ransomware with which they generate affiliate income through the extortion of their customers’ victims.

Recent screenshots and video demos of their ransomware GUI appear to show the account being used for testing and demonstrating their software’s functionality has our official logo as its avatar.
